For those of you who haven't seen me for a while, there I am, in front of my new "Let's Twist Again" series, inspired by Chubby Checker and the dance he made popular in the 1960's.It belongs to a series of photographic landscapes of repetitive yet chaotic and free bands of soft, pastel colors combined with more vibrant ones.
Mesmerizing effects of repetition and the impact of color no doubt stem from my youth in New York and Mexico City. I still recall the visual impact that MOMA's optical art exhibition "The Responsive Eye" made on me back in 1965.
